I say ‘great’ because, when it comes to doing business, I now know I agree strongly with many of his beliefs. One such belief is the conquering of fear, that is, asking yourself “what could I achieve if I wasn’t afraid?”. Trent’s not the first to bring this important question to light, however, I don’t believe that you can ever be reminded of this self-reflecting question enough. My son, Dylan, was named after a friend of mine, who passed away at the age of 34 – the same age I was when my son was born. However, rather than remembering my friend’s death, calling my son’s name reminds me of how important it is to live life to the fullest. Life can be a lot shorter than planned.
Trent writes that not letting fear prevent you from doing something new is one of the qualities, amongst many, of a ‘naked’ salesperson. “It’s what you do, not what you say, that matters most,” he says in his book. “Control fear – don’t let it control you.”
I think this will be my motto in the Year of the Rabbit.
