THE URGENT/IMPORTANT MATRIX, also known as the ‘Eisenhower Method’ stems from a quote attributed to Dwight D. Eisenhower, “I have two kinds of problems, the urgent and the important.” Author, Stephen Covey made this matrix relevant to the business world.
In this ClarkMorgan Insight, Wilson Zhu, highlights how to define which tasks are urgent/important, urgent/not important, not urgent/important, and not urgent/not important. Wilson uses the metaphor of a tree when defining main tasks (big branches), minor tasks (small branches), goals (trunk) and the values (roots).
